“Adentro-Afuera”

by Angie Jerez
📍 Mothers Best Chicken

Angie Jerez is an artist from Colombia who moved to Atlanta in 2012. She grew up in a decayed neighborhood in Bogota, full of cramped spare parts shops with their own aesthetics and organization. This unique neighborhood influenced her concept of beauty, perfection, and authenticity. Using nature as a collage of inspiration, she creates drawings with detailed linework: abstract subjects surrounded by organic shapes.

As with roots, this wall is a site of constant transit over a space of frequent underground transition, serving as a portal to new destinations. With multiple ways in and out, this space represents the interconnectedness of our journeys above and the intricate networks below–each journey linking us to one another and our vibrant community.
