Smart energy focuses on powerful, sustainable renewable energy sources that promote greater eco-friendliness while driving down costs. The Smart Energy Lab hosts the Tech Square Microgrid which will not only provide clean power to Midtown, but it will also serve as a living laboratory in which Georgia Tech, industry, and government researchers will work collaboratively to create the next generation of clean energy solutions.
George F. Baker III(aka GFB3) is an Atlanta-based artist who uses his work to employ a playful, child-like spirit to engage the inner child in us all. He is currently an active muralist and serves as Creative Director of Foster, a studio collective that strives to strip the fear around play.
His mural, located at the new Smart Energy Lab by Georgia Power and Georgia Tech, is a symbol of the excitement and possibilities of smart energy for our future. It serves as a barrier for the microgrid and provides educational materials, demonstrating the ways that art can convey complex and revolutionary innovations.
