The mural transformed the previously bare rooftop at the rear of the beautifully renovated Peachtree Center Plaza—a vantage point for tenants in many of Peachtree Center’s six (6) office towers—fostering a sense of excitement and creative energy for the thousands of office users able to view it each day. Later in the year, this mural was featured on the cover of Atlanta Magazine’s “Best of ATL” December Issue.

1010 is a Hamburg-based contemporary artist known for his enigmatic, portal-like street art illusions on walls around the world. Previously, he has created contemporary abstract birds and snakes, with some taking on tie-dye and painterly textures with almost computer-generated smoothness. For the past few years, 1010 has been mostly focused on an abstract concept of making “holes on the walls.”

Atlanta is chockablock with murals. In recent years especially, more pieces of public art have been popping up around the city. With wall space getting tight, one Downtown Atlanta building decided to take murals to a new height—the roof.
